ALBANY — A Niskayuna man faces up to 30 years in prison for getting busted in a undercover sting that had him believing a father was about to sell his two underage daughters for sex.
Timothy A. Waddell, 35, pleaded guilty Friday before U. During the discussions with the potential customer, Waddell allegedly negotiated a deal to purchase a DVD containing sexually explicit images of minors. On the day of his eventual arrest, Waddell traveled to the hotel room and met an undercover agent posing as the father of the minors.
Not long after that, Waddell was arrested and was allegedly found with a camera, two packs of condoms, baby oil, skimpy lingerie, a teddy bear and clothing a minor would wear. On the same day, a computer was seized from Waddell residence which contained numerous images in still and video format were found of minors engaging in sexually explicit conduct, according to police. Investigators also secured already printed sexually explicit images of children from his bedroom.
When interviewed by authorties that day, Waddell admitted he planned to engage in intercourse and oral sex with minors, said police. Police said Waddell further acknowledged that he purchases a subscription to a Web site that offered child pornography.
Sentencing for Waddell is scheduled for Sept. District Court in Binghamton.
At a minimum, Waddell faces 15 years behind bars. By Robert Cristo.
