Disfrute de su estancia en nuestro hotel. Mildew on ceiling and under mattress, lock on back door to pool was broken so people were propping door open with a rock so any one could have just walked into the hotel where the rooms are. The TV remote barely worked. Stayed one night at BW while attending a graduation party in the area and enjoyed my stay. Welcoming and comfortable during my time, excellent breakfast options with a decent variety and accessibility to all amenities this hotel provides. Would return for future visits. Staff is pleasant and helpful and appreciate that.
From the moment we arrived until the time we left, the front desk staff made our stay wonderful. Friendly and responsive. The room was large with high ceilings. Showers hot, AC cold. Breakfast items individually packaged. Coffee machine in lobby made best coffee ever! Juices available also. Our stay really made our vacation great! Clean, comfortable and absolutely amazing service! Great location to all area attraction too. Will definitely seek BW Plus in the future.
This hotel was extremely cleanstaff was super friendly and great price. The kids loved the pool and breakfast. When we come back this is where we will be staying. Only thing missing was the swans on the bed that was shown in the pictures when booking the room. We have stayed at a few hotels the past couple weeks on a family vacation. This hotel was located close enough to Virginia Beach to make it a cheaper option. The hotel was clean and the staff was helpful. We stayed in one of their family suites and it had plenty of space.
I would stay here again. Our issue with another hotel landed us here. Rooms are clean, spacious and bright. Hotel is not dated and they do an awesome job with keeping the problems out. We stayed here for two nights and slept like the dead. No issues at all.
There were several family's staying with young children and they were all very well behaved. Chuck, you saved us from a complete nightmare! Chuck, is very friendly and goes above and beyond for patrons. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Recently was there on business. Stayed a week. Fire alarm went off around midnight for about two minutes. No "fire". The next night it went off again around in the morning. Went to the front desk that morning to see why this kept happening. Was told that someone had been smoking "cigarettes" guess what kind in their room and had been "evicted". The staff apologized for the inconvenience. The next evening after returning from dinner, as we approached the elevator, we smelled that special cigarette smoke hanging heavy in the air.
Thankfully, though, the fire alarm did not go off for the rest of the trip. We've been using this hotel for the last three years for business projects in Newport News. The staff has always been pleasant and the breakfast decent. Rates are reasonable. Cleanliness, however, seems to be on a steady decline. Litter left by patrons was slow to be picked up outside and the hallways seemed to be lacking vacuuming this time around. The rooms have usually been pretty clean for us although on a trip and on this most recent trip we had issues with the AC.
On a trip my AC wouldn't blow cold air. The front desk clerk was cordial about the problem but it took me some convincing to get him to understand that the wall thermostat was not functioning. Ultimately he put me in another room this was a year or so ago from the time of this writing.
On this trip, one of my coworker's AC wasn't working so he had to be moved as well. Some of the rooms use the wall thermostat, some use the thermostat on the AC despite there being a thermostat on the wallso, if you have problems, be sure you're using the right one before putting yourself through the effort of going to the front desk. In my experience, they will tell you to use the wall thermostat, but trust me, that's not how all of the rooms work Unfortunately, this stay was our last.
When I first arrived I had an issue. The receptionist was able to see my reservation, but for some strange reason my payment information was not attached, but I received an stating payment was being processed. I called customer service which was a waste of time.
So I just canceled the reservations and made a new one. The receptionist was able to give me the same pricing from the reservation which was sweet of her. I loved the fact that the pool opened from pm. We were traveling home from Virginia Beach after a long day at a competition. Made reservation for this hotel.
When arriving there were two guys sitting by the fountain out front drinking beer with a case between them. When walking into the lobby to check in the desk clerk was arguing on the phone with someone. After waiting 10 minutes for him to get done the fire alarm goes off. A women in the lobby said the alarm had been going off the night before and all day. My granddaughter was terrified and the place smelled of urine. After the clerk turned off the alarm I informed him we were cancelling.
He said he couldn't refund our money. After arguing a few minutes he di give our deposit back. We have traveled a many places and stayed at several hotels but his place is by far the worst ever!!! The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. However, the pool was filthy to which I didn't even want to go in it. The outside sitting area was littered with cigarette butts, dirty and the fountain was green with algae.
The bath towels were small and felt like sandpaper, desk chair was broken, lamp shades were stained. My suggestion would be to spend a little more money and stay at a nice hotel.
The room smells sour. Air conditioner isn't working well. Wait forever to have hot water in the shower. Breakfast is so limited. No water provided at breakfast. Almost dollars spent for 3 nights stay is not worthy. Rather stay at Hampton Inn. Wonderful, responsive, engaging ladies at the front desk for check-in and check-out. I was in town alone for relaxation, visiting family and exploring the area for a 5 day stay. The hotel room had plenty of space for one king suite. I checked the room for bugs and dust based on reviews posted-everything was clean and looked nice a few stains on the couch, but I wasn't expecting guests so I didn't use it.
Hallways and elevator were clean and dry. There were kids coming from the pool but no puddles of water in hallway or elevator. There was a nice size refrigerator in the room which came in handy. The only bad thing I had to say about the room was on the 3rd night I came back to slide closet door back and saw a roach on the floor. I killed it and looked for others-I didn't find any. I didn't report it because it was very late and I was exhausted.
I didn't want to be moved to another room or have anyone in my room blah, blah, blah. It was only one and no other complaints with bugs.
The hotel was very close to the hwy, across the street was a mall, plenty of food restaurants close by. It was a little over an hr to Virginia Beach, 20 mins to Hampton which wasn't bad. There was enough setting if you preferred to eat there. I got my food and took it back to my room to avoid the breakfast rush. While I have no complaints that would cause me to advise someone not to stay at this Best Western, I did mention in my review to them several things that I noted needed improvement. The exterior and lobby area were exceptionally clean and very pleasant smelling.
Our room was spacious and had all the amenities we needed and we were comfortable; it just needed some TLC on the fixtures and linens. The staff was very nice. They were not serving a full hot breakfast yet, but their choices were adequate except that they ran out of peanut butter!
I would stay here again, but I really think they need to consider refurbishment in the near future. We decided to stop halfway on our way to vacation and we are so glad we stopped at this hotel. They are pet friendly.
Taking that into consideration, the hotel was clean along with the outdoor areastaff was friendly, and experience was great. There could be some updating with the decor but I'm not an interior decorator and honestly, the beds were so comfy and that made it so much better. I would stay at this hotel again because it was a good location with well maintained facilities at a fair price.
The walls between the rooms are not well insulated so you could hear the conversations in the next room. Fortunately, the guests were not rowdy so at bedtime the hotel was very quiet and it was easy to get a good night's rest. Everyone was so welcoming. I had left my room key and driver at someone else house.
Front desk gave me a new key and a copy of my .
Breakfast had a lot of options. The beds and pillows are life. I definitely Will stay there next time. Thank you guys. We used to stay at this hotel all the time, but it has gone downhill.Naughty newport news
